ASSISTANT SHOP MANAGER

The Roommate Collective is looking for support with a part-time shop assistant manager to join our team. You will work closely with The Roomate Collective members and be responsible for the day-to-day operations in our brick & mortar with a focus on our daily retail and online shop operations.

Our weekly open hours are currently Monday-Friday (closed tuesday) 12-6 and Saturday-Sundays 11-5.

Weekend availability is a must.  This role starts at 20-30hrs a week with the opportunity for more shifts and hours.

This is currently a part time position with room for growth and role development.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure all shop operations are running smoothly
  • Compile daily closing report 
  • Implement systems for inventory management
  • Daily opening and closing duties including but not limited to cleaning, shop inventory management and more to be completed daily
  • Direct other employees on what tasks need to be done during their shifts and set them up for success
  • Delegate tasks as needed and ensure everything is done as a team effort
  • Ensure everything is restocked and looks full
  • Using Canva for signage and newsletter 
  • Social Media support in taking photos and posting daily stories on Instagram

ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Make a monthly schedule while accommodating everyone’s calendars
  • Help train new employees
  • Update Studio Guide and Agreement as needed 
  • Support with other shop duties as needed
  • Event support (occasional evening and weekend)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Preferred 2+ years retail or equivalent experience
  • College student at least through their sophomore year of school
  • Lives in or near Austin, Texas and must have reliable transportation
  • Weekly availability and flexibility during our shop's open hours
  • Weekend availability is a must - including holidays
  • Must be able to commit for at least 6 months or longer
